Demus, a specialist in decaffeinated coffee, has been given authorisation to provide UTZ and Rainforest certified coffee.
Demus has decided to commit itself to obtain the double certification, offering its customers a new service of decaffeination (dichloromethane and/or water and activated carbon), dewaxing, removal of ochratoxin A and negative aromas and vaporisation for UTZ and Rainforest coffee; the certification also allows the company to market certified coffee.
“It’s a demonstration of the company’s desire to progress and keep up with the evolution of market demand, which is also increasingly attentive to sustainability issues,” said the company’s CEO, Massimiliano Fabian. “We are delighted to see our commitment in this direction rewarded as well.”
UTZ and Rainforest certification is in addition to other certifications already present in the company, such as ISO9001:2015 (Quality), ISO14001:2015 (Environment), OHSAS 18001:2007 (Safety) and religious certifications Kosher (for Jewish markets) and Halal (for Islamic markets).
