Two lucky winners will also be treated to amazing coffee machine bundles with a Golden Ticket winner taking home a Sage Bambino coffee machine, Baratza Grinder and a Christmas coffee gift box, and the Sliver Ticket runner-up bagging a bundle featuring an Opal One Pod machine and a coffee pod starter kit. Additional prizes hidden in random goody bags include; two Beginner Barista Class gift vouchers, two 6-month coffee subscription vouchers, a TOPL Cup and an Airscape Canister.

Ahead of the launch, the brand is offering the people of Castleford an exclusive taste of its iconic coffee before the new store opens its doors. On Sunday, December 1st, the brand will dish out free cups of their crowd-pleasing brews and free coffee vouchers at Junction 32 shopping park. In collaboration with Boxed Drinks, the team will be set up between 11AM and 3PM, providing the perfect pick-me-up for a day of Christmas shopping.

General manager of the Junction 32 store, Aaron Misty, commented: “We’re really excited about the opening of our new store at Junction 32 and we can’t wait to meet and serve the lovely customers on opening day and beyond. I started my journey with 200 Degrees as a humble barista at the site in Leeds, I’ve worked my way up through the wonderful world of coffee over the past 11 years and I’m excited to take on this new challenge. The support from the company has been unmatched as they have believed in me and helped me to achieve my goals. I am looking forward to beginning this next chapter of my career with 200 Degrees and the amazing team I have working with me.”

Darren Winter, centre director at Junction 32, said: “We are thrilled to welcome 200 Degrees to Junction 32. With its delicious sweet treats and stunning beverage selection, we have no doubt it will become a firm favourite with our visitors and will make for the perfect place to stop off at whilst they enjoy a shopping trip.”

Customers visiting the new site can expect to find themselves in 200 Degrees’ signature cosy environment, thoughtfully designed to provide a welcoming, warm space.

The expansive menu is built around the expert roaster’s signature house blend, Brazilian Love Affair, and includes classics like Americanos, flat whites and lattes. However, the brand has become renowned for its decadent seasonal specials like its gingerbread latte and mint mocha – as well as indulgent hot chocolates, herbal teas and fruit smoothies.

200 Degrees has also rolled out a festive food menu across all its sites, with a handmade sandwich menu that features a brie and cranberry toastie, Santa’s vegan sarnie and ‘The Christmas Beast’; featuring a festive combo of turkey and ham hock, paired with stuffing and topped with cranberry sauce.

The Castleford store has brought 15 new jobs to the local area. Plans include a spacious 1250 sq ft layout, with approximately 80 covers including indoor & outdoor seating options. It will be equipped with Eversys E4 Extra Wide coffee machines, designed to produce up to 350 espressos per hour, ensuring guests won’t have to wait long for their favourite brew.

Specialist Yorkshire-based coffee roaster, Danelaw Coffee, has achieved significant growth following funding from the Start Up Loans programme, delivered by the Business Enterprise Fund (BEF) on behalf of the British Business Bank.

Founded by David Jameson in 2022, Danelaw Coffee offers high-quality coffee products. David has 18 years of experience working across a variety of roles in the coffee industry and has attended coffee events across the world, winning a number of awards for his produce.

Using his skills and contacts, David started his own business. He initially began roasting the coffee from his home, converting his dining room into a roastery, but quickly learnt there was not enough space and used a Start Up Loan to move to premises on Meltham Mills Industrial Estate

Danelaw Coffee takes a personal approach to coffee making and has built relationships with the farmers it sources the raw materials from. The business aims to make speciality coffee more accessible to the general public, taking the time to explain the value of the coffee and how it is made.

Danelaw Coffee secured a GBP £25,000 Start Up Loan from the British Business Bank, delivered by BEF. Besides the larger premises, the finance also allowed it to invest in professional packaging equipment and a six-kilo coffee roaster so it could increase its operations. It has since received another Start Up Loan through BEF to help with working capital and reinvest in packaging.

The business has grown significantly since receiving the loan, with its sales this financial year doubling from the last. The business has also won multiple Great Taste Awards and recently secured a new customer in a high-profile new food hall in Holmfirth.

As the business continues to grow, it plans to diversify its product range, launching cold brews this summer to maintain business year-round. It is also training a new roaster so Jameson can focus on growing the business.

David Jameson, founder of Danelaw Coffee, said: “I am so glad that I have been able to turn my passion for coffee into a full-time business with support from the Start Up Loans programme. I have worked within the coffee industry for many years now, so it’s great that I’m now able to support some of the farmers I have met along the way.

“As a first-time entrepreneur, starting my own business was intimidating, but the BEF team helped with the whole process, giving me the confidence to push forward. It is great what I have been able to achieve so far and I look forward to continuing this growth trajectory.”

Julie Micklethwaite, Start Up Loans manager at Business Enterprise Fund, said: “It’s amazing to see David’s passion for what he does, and this is reflected within his business. The success Danelaw Coffee has achieved demonstrates the importance of supporting businesses by giving them not only the funding they require, but the confidence they need to reach their full potential. I look forward to seeing what’s next for the business.”

Delyth Edwards, senior network manager for the North West at the British Business Bank, said: “Since receiving the Start Up Loan, David has already achieved significant growth at Danelaw Coffee, doubling its sales within one year, and already has plans to expand its offerings.

“This highlights the importance of focused funding like the Start Up Loans programme, which give businesses like Danelaw Coffee the opportunity to grow and make an impact on its local economy.”

Independent UK coffee and food chain, Bob & Berts, has expanded its footprint into Yorkshire as it prepares to open its 28th UK store in Wakefield on Monday 25 September, creating over 30 new jobs.

Situated in the city’s open-air Trinity Walk Shopping Centre, the company has transformed a 3,000 sq. ft. unit into a relaxed family-friendly coffee shop. The store’s 120-cover layout delivers a bright interior style that the brand has become known for, with 92 internal covers and a further 28 external covers in the heart of the shopping centre.

Founded in Portstewart in Northern Ireland in 2013 by Colin McClean, Bob & Berts is known for its distinctive style, quality offering and community-focused approach. Following a GBP £2 million investment in 2017 from BGF – one of the largest and most experienced growth capital investors in the UK and Ireland – the business has grown to 28 sites across the UK, including seven in England, and reported 58% sales growth in the 12 months ending 30 June 2022, reaching £17.8m.

The company has recently appointed former Pizza Express and Spit Roast operations manager, Dave Rayner, as its regional operations manager for England. Rayner will lead the operations team to oversee the company’s roll out across the country as part of its strategic growth plan.

Colin McClean, founder of Bob & Berts, said, “We’re eager to bring Bob & Berts’ signature style and welcoming service to the local community of Wakefield. Trinity Walk Shopping Centre is a fantastic location with family-friendly events taking place all year round. We see Yorkshire as a key growth area for us and Dave’s experience of both branded and independent operations will prove extremely valuable in helping us to reach more communities across England.”

Bob & Berts serves its own artisan coffee that’s hand-roasted in Northern Ireland using 100% arabica beans. Seasonal specials for autumn include a pumpkin-spiced latte, s’mores hot chocolate and a spiced chai cappuccino.

David Ferguson, co-owner of Bob & Berts, added, “We’ve seen great success across England over the past 12 months following store openings in Carlisle, Bury and Blackpool, with customers commenting on the positive impact our stores have had on boosting the local high street offer with affordable food and drink.

“We’ve identified a strong pipeline of new sites as part of our continued expansion and short-term objective of being a 50+ site brand. Our roll out across England remains our focus for the next 12 months and we’ve identified six stores to open with potential locations including Rochdale, Burnley, Southport, Warrington and Liverpool to maintain our successful momentum.”

UK, Yorkshire-based Limini Coffee has launched environmentally friendly coffee pods, which customers can fill themselves with any roasted coffee beans from the Limini range.

Once used, the pods can be covered with damp soil and will decompose in a month, or they can safely be put into the food waste bin.

The pods, designed for use in coffee machines, can be filled with the customer’s choice of coffee. A rack carries up to 10 empty pods, so customers can fill enough pods for a day, or a week, depending on their coffee drinking habits. The chosen coffee is poured into the pods, tamped down, and the top stuck on.

The eco-friendly pods are designed to be used with Nespresso machines. The benefit of self-filled coffee pods is that customers can choose their favourite roasted coffee beans and have the confidence of knowing that their empty pods are fully sustainable.

Customers choosing to make their own pods, are not only being more environmentally friendly and getting the exact coffee they want, but they can also save money. A starter pack that includes the tray plus 75 pods and lids is £23.35 + VAT, and refill packs of 75 pods and lids are £8.60 + VAT.

Limini Coffee aims to dispatch all orders for next day delivery with DPD and Royal Mail, or customers can collect directly from their Yorkshire roastery.
