200 Degrees is set to celebrate the launch with a huge giveaway on opening day, which will see free drinks gifted to the first 200 guests through its doors. The first 50 guests will also receive a tote bag containing goodies including a bag of 200 Degrees coffee beans and Happi chocolate.

Two lucky winners will also be treated to amazing coffee machine bundles with a Golden Ticket winner taking home a Sage Bambino coffee machine, Baratza Grinder and a Christmas coffee gift box, and the Sliver Ticket runner-up bagging a bundle featuring an Opal One Pod machine and a coffee pod starter kit. Additional prizes hidden in random goody bags include; two Beginner Barista Class gift vouchers, two 6-month coffee subscription vouchers, a TOPL Cup and an Airscape Canister.

Ahead of the launch, the brand is offering the people of Castleford an exclusive taste of its iconic coffee before the new store opens its doors. On Sunday, December 1st, the brand will dish out free cups of their crowd-pleasing brews and free coffee vouchers at Junction 32 shopping park. In collaboration with Boxed Drinks, the team will be set up between 11AM and 3PM, providing the perfect pick-me-up for a day of Christmas shopping.

General manager of the Junction 32 store, Aaron Misty, commented: “We’re really excited about the opening of our new store at Junction 32 and we can’t wait to meet and serve the lovely customers on opening day and beyond. I started my journey with 200 Degrees as a humble barista at the site in Leeds, I’ve worked my way up through the wonderful world of coffee over the past 11 years and I’m excited to take on this new challenge. The support from the company has been unmatched as they have believed in me and helped me to achieve my goals. I am looking forward to beginning this next chapter of my career with 200 Degrees and the amazing team I have working with me.”

Darren Winter, centre director at Junction 32, said: “We are thrilled to welcome 200 Degrees to Junction 32. With its delicious sweet treats and stunning beverage selection, we have no doubt it will become a firm favourite with our visitors and will make for the perfect place to stop off at whilst they enjoy a shopping trip.”

Customers visiting the new site can expect to find themselves in 200 Degrees’ signature cosy environment, thoughtfully designed to provide a welcoming, warm space.

The expansive menu is built around the expert roaster’s signature house blend, Brazilian Love Affair, and includes classics like Americanos, flat whites and lattes. However, the brand has become renowned for its decadent seasonal specials like its gingerbread latte and mint mocha – as well as indulgent hot chocolates, herbal teas and fruit smoothies.

200 Degrees has also rolled out a festive food menu across all its sites, with a handmade sandwich menu that features a brie and cranberry toastie, Santa’s vegan sarnie and ‘The Christmas Beast’; featuring a festive combo of turkey and ham hock, paired with stuffing and topped with cranberry sauce.

The Castleford store has brought 15 new jobs to the local area. Plans include a spacious 1250 sq ft layout, with approximately 80 covers including indoor & outdoor seating options. It will be equipped with Eversys E4 Extra Wide coffee machines, designed to produce up to 350 espressos per hour, ensuring guests won’t have to wait long for their favourite brew.

The new West Yorkshire coffee shop will be located at Junction 32 Shopping Outlet, Unit B15, Tomahawk Trail, Castleford, WF10 4FR. For more updates on the new venue, follow @200Degs on Instagram or visit the website here.

200 Degrees, the speciality coffee roaster based in Nottingham, has secured a significant wholesale client in the University of Birmingham. The contract sees 200 Degrees supplying all coffee and ancillary drinks products such as syrups and hot chocolate to the 15 food and beverage outlets across the campus. The wholesale team has already been working extensively across campus to ensure that coffee machines are calibrated, and that food and beverage teams’ barista skills are at the top of their game, ready for the academic year starting in earnest later this month.

Being a born and bred Brummie, 200 Degrees’ head of sales Ben Riley is especially proud of this win: “With thousands of students and academic staff requiring regular caffeine breaks, we’re expecting to help University of Birmingham satisfy this demand with tonnes of great tasting coffee and a boat load of hot chocolate! This is a huge achievement for a roaster of our size, and we are over the moon to be working with the University for the years ahead. We’re really excited for what’s to come and how we develop this partnership.”

Commercial director Will Kenney added, “Public sector tenders are incredibly competitive and complex, and 200 Degrees has shown the strength of our wholesale offering by winning this client. We’ve already proven the crowd-pleasing nature of our coffee with the success of our 21 shops, but this process allowed us to really showcase our client management skills and our commitment to delivering a bespoke, personal touch. We’re looking forward to helping University of Birmingham provide better coffee over the coming years.”

Chris Mellins, director of food, beverage and retail for University of Birmingham, said: “We are excited to have 200 Degrees as our official coffee partner. At the University, sustainability is one of our key strategic pillars, and it’s crucial for our Food, Beverage and Retail department to embed sustainable practices into all aspects of our operations, including our partnerships. 200 Degrees shares our commitment to these values and aligns with our ambitions in this area – and their coffee is excellent too!”

200 Degrees continues to go from strength to strength in the multiple pillars of its business, with wholesale boosted by the launch of its Coffee 2Go offering earlier this year. A high-end automated machine, the first unit has already been making waves at a student accommodation site in Nottingham, with further units on order for university locations in the city. The brand is also about to sign on the dotted line the deal for its 22nd coffee shop, which is due to open before the end of the year.

Independent coffee roaster, 200 Degrees, is opening a coffee shop and barista school in the heart of Chester in May.

Located on Bridge Street, in one of the under-croft stores below the iconic Grosvenor Shopping centre, the Grade II listed premises, previously a Patisserie Valerie, will seat around 90 customers and feature the roaster’s signature interior design, such as its classic fireplace and cosy armchairs.

The coffee shop will be 200 Degrees’ 19th UK venue and its third in the Northwest – with shops in Liverpool and Manchester.

Customers can expect 200 Degrees’ own, sustainably sourced, freshly roasted coffee, a selection of deli ciabattas, toasties and soups, as well as cakes and pastries. Hot chocolate, a selection of teas, smoothies and milkshakes will also be available.

For those wanting to learn how to make a really good cup of coffee, the Chester shop will feature a barista school, offering a range of courses from simple home brew methods to advanced barista techniques.

Stephen Fern, managing director at 200 Degrees, said: “Chester is an incredible city with heritage and culture in abundance, and if it’s good enough for Hollyoaks, then it’s good enough for us!

“It’s really exciting that we’re also bringing one of our Barista Schools to Chester, which are incredibly popular in the six other cities they’re in. This is the place for coffee enthusiasts and professionals alike to enjoy fun, hands-on courses on how to make a truly great coffee.

“We also offer team building sessions for groups to learn and have fun together, but whether in a group or on your own, our aim is to always create a unique and memorable learning experience.

“We are lucky to be in a stunning building and while we will be incorporating our 200 Degrees look and feel, we always honour the history and the quirks of the buildings we move into.

“We’re already on the lookout for enthusiastic baristas to be part of the team so we can bring something special to the local community.”

The Chester coffee shop will bring 15 new full- and part-time jobs.

With a shared passion to create the best quality coffee, Rob Darby and Tom Vincent founded 200 Degrees in 2012, after setting up its roastery in Nottingham.

Since then, they have expanded its footprint across England and Wales, and partnered with a number of good causes doing great work in the communities it operates in.

UK, Nottingham-based 200 Degrees Coffee Roasters has opened a new coffee shop in the historic city of York.

The 82-seat shop has created 15 new full-time and part-time jobs in the heritage retail setting of 68 Low Petergate, just a short walk from many major tourist attractions including York Minster and The Shambles.

200 Degrees director, Tom Vincent, said: “This shop should have been open last April but we’re finally here and we hope our independent attitude and relaxed way of doing things will add to this fantastic area.

“We’re keen to join the local business community in York and support the thriving visitor economy in any way we can, possibly by treating some people to a coffee and one of our delicious vegan brownies. I’m also hoping to use my new joke about the shop being close to a shambles as many times as possible.

“There’s lots to like including our hand roasted coffee and food that’s freshly made in our kitchen every day. We’ll be open early for our usual range of breakfasts and concentrating extra hard on maintaining the high quality of our takeaway service.”

200 Degrees was set up by Tom and his business partner Rob Darby in 2012 and now has 14 ‘distinctively independent’ coffee shops as well as its Roast House near Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

The York coffee shop follows the opening of 200 Degrees Manchester and Cannock, which opened in May and June respectively.

Opening times are 8am – 8pm Monday to Friday, 9am – 7pm on Saturdays and 9am – 5pm on Sundays.

200 Degrees Coffee and members of the public have donated acetate to the Queens Medical Centre hospital (QMC) in Nottingham, UK, to help alleviate the shortage of protective visors for NHS staff working on the front-line of the Covid-19 pandemic.

With the NHS under huge pressure and limited resources of personal protective equipment (PPE), specialist medical designers in the Orthotics department at QMC turned their attentions from insole production for foot conditions, to the production of vital protective equipment.

200 Degrees Coffee initially bought 1,000 acetate sheets and sent out a plea to the public for further donations. The people of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire brought the total to approximately 10,000 acetate sheets which were collated at 200 Degrees’ roast house on Meadow Lane, before being delivered to the QMC.

Co-founder of 200 Degrees Coffee, Rob Darby, said: “In the current Covid-19 crisis the NHS are working at the coalface and all efforts are being made to limit the spread, and to help support our NHS and the capacity at its hospitals.

“The NHS is doing an incredible job of looking after us all during this pandemic and when we heard that they had limited resources on PPE, we wanted to help. The team at our local hospital, QMC, are doing an amazing job to create these visors in-house and we hope our donation can make a real difference in the effort to save lives.

“A big thank you to all those who supported us and donated acetate sheets, it was brilliant to see such a huge response from other people who just want to help anyway they can.”

The specialist coffee roasters also delivered 50 cafetieres – each with a kilo of freshly ground coffee – to the Nottingham Hospitals Charity, which are now being distributed between NHS staff rooms at QMC and City Hospital in Nottingham.

Nigel Gregory, director of development at Nottingham Hospitals Charity, said: “Boosting the morale of our front-line staff is a hugely important job for us at the charity, so we are absolutely delighted to be able to provide teams across the hospital with these donations of 200 Degrees coffee and cafetieres. We love the fact that local companies are helping their local hospitals. The ability to quickly and easily make some great coffee will do wonders for our hardworking staff. Thanks to all involved.”

It is reportedly a team-wide approach at 200 Degrees with finance director, Stephen Fern, working with his team mates at football club Bingham FC and the local community to raise £6,000. The sum was raised over the course of just four days and it has been used to purchase 4,200 protective visors for the QMC and other healthcare providers across Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.

Speciality coffee roaster and wholesaler, 200 Degrees, will open a new location in Lincoln, UK in March, bringing handcrafted fresh food and artisan coffee to the city.

It will be the roastr’s eighth shop in the UK, serving freshly roasted coffee from its Roast House in nearby Nottingham.

Coffee lovers will be able to purchase the brand’s own roasted beans in store and online, and for coffee enthusiasts, the new shop will have a barista school on its mezzanine floor to offer coffee training for a range of experience levels – from budding beginners, all the way through to trained baristas.

The company also plans to support independent retail businesses in Lincoln with a series of pop-up events in store.

Tom Vincent, co-founder and director of 200 Degrees, said: “We saw an opening for our specialist coffee shop to join this diverse city and we very much look forward to opening in Lincoln in March. Lincoln is steeped in history and has so much beautiful architecture and we’re so pleased to have found a fantastic old building in the heart of the recently transformed Cornhill Quarter.

“We want to support Lincoln’s burgeoning coffee population and become an integral part of the vibrant community by offering a comfortable and stylish venue that makes people feel at home with great coffee and food.

“With our roast house less than an hour away, we can supply fresh coffee to our new store regularly and the 200 Degrees brand will complement the diverse range of local and independent shops on Lincoln’s streetscape.

“We also hope to host a series of pop up events to align ourselves with other Lincoln-based brands and offer the community something extra. Our barista school will offer an engaging space to learn the craft of bean to cup and we invite the local student population to come down and take part in this.”

200 Degrees, which was set up by Tom and his business partner Rob Darby in 2012, has distinctive coffee shops in Nottingham, Birmingham, Leeds, Sheffield, Leicester and Cardiff. The company has further national expansion plans with a shop in Manchester due to open in 2019.

The Sincil Street coffee shop will be open 7:30am-8pm Monday to Friday, 8am-7pm Saturdays and 9:30am-6pm on Sundays.
